The country at present has a lack of dialysis units required as per the demand and with each patient’s treatment costing more than US$2,200 per year, affordability becomes an issue for a lot of them.
Ever Grace foundation keeping in mind the costs, a growing number of patients, and lack of resources decided to establish free dialysis several centers in the country that will treat dialysis patients free of cost.
There is a growing need for dialysis centers so Ever Grace decided to make Free dialysis centers consisting of Four machines in both semi-developed and underdeveloped areas.
The first free dialysis center will scheduled be established in Kurunegala which caters to 150-200 patients every month. The free dialysis center has no cash counter just like our free covid hospital and is purely expected to running on donations and sponsors
We, Ever Grace Foundation has decided that different dialysis centers of five machines should be formed in underdeveloped and well-developed areas.Because insri Lanka kidney patients are more pecentage area is Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Matale ,Trincomale , Ampara and Kurunegala.
Privileged people should install machines on their behalf and on behalf of their deceased. We will run the centers and after Kurunegala , we will spread it throughout the other area in Sri Lanka priorotiy basis as per the number of patiens.
Some studies estimate that the incidence of CKDu in Sri Lanka has been doubling every four to five years, so that currently >150,000 people are affected by the disease and about 3% of them lose their lives annually. which will cater to 150-200 patients every month according to the priority on patient’s condition.
